The MIT Dual-Use Ventures (DuV) Program returns to empower the next generation of innovators navigating the dynamic intersection of government and commercial markets. This immersive course blends expert-led seminars, real-world case studies, and actionable strategies tailored for startups seeking to thrive in both defense and enterprise ecosystems.

Participants will delve into critical topics such as securing non-dilutive funding, building dual-market strategies, and protecting intellectual property, all while networking with thought leaders, government stakeholders, and investors. With a focus on emerging challenges and opportunities of aerospace, AI, energy, and manufacturing, this year’s edition introduces panels exploring the future of defense innovation, including national security in the age of algorithms.

Participants are encouraged to contribute to a whitepaper collaboratively authored in parallel with the course.

Course Details

Date:
January 29-30, 2025. (1-5pm both days, followed by a Mission Meetup 6-8pm on Jan. 30) On Friday, January 31, there is an optional Office Hours / Consultation, to wrap up the course deliverable.

Location:
In-person on MIT’s campus. (Mission Meetup will be near-campus.)

Who:
Individuals interested in building, scaling, or working at a technology company that can provide value to both government and commercial customers. Private and public sector representatives are welcome in addition to students from MIT and other institutions.
